Retirement Date Calculator
Enter your date of birth and pick a retirement age to find your exact retirement date —
down to the day of the week, with the time you have left.
Runs in your browser, nothing you enter is sent
How it's calculated
Formula: retirement date = date of birth + retirement age (years + months). If the resulting day doesn't exist in that month — for example 29 February in a non-leap year — the last day of the month is used.
This is an estimate from the numbers you enter — your employer's or pension scheme's exact rules decide your official date. Learn the method step by step.
About this calculator
Pick a retirement age and get your retirement date instantly: the date itself with its weekday, your last working day before it, and exactly how much time is left. Everything runs in your browser — your dates never leave your device.
This is an estimate, not advice: scheme rules (like India's month-end convention or Social Security's day-before-birthday rule) can shift the official date by a day or a month. About RetirementDateCalc · Editorial policy · Found an error? Report it

Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate my retirement date?
Add your retirement age to your date of birth. For example, born 15 March 1985 with a retirement age of 60 gives 15 March 2045. If that day doesn't exist in the target month — 29 February in a non-leap year, say — use the last day of the month instead. The calculator above does all of this for you, including the day of the week.
How do I find my retirement date from my date of birth?
Enter your birth date in the tool above and choose a retirement age — one of the presets (58, 60, 62, 65) or your own years and months. You'll get your retirement date instantly, plus your last working day before it and exactly how much time is left.
What is the difference between a retirement age and a retirement date?
A retirement age is a length of time, such as 60 years. A retirement date is the calendar day you reach it, such as 15 March 2045. Two people with the same retirement age retire on different dates if their birthdays are different — the date is personal, the age is just the rule.
Is this retirement date calculator free and private?
Yes. It's free, needs no account and no sign-up. Every calculation happens in your browser on your own device — nothing you type is sent to us, logged, or shared with anyone.
Does this work for Social Security, India or the UK?
This page is the general calculator: any birth date plus any retirement age. For scheme-specific rules, use the dedicated tools: the Social Security calculator for full, early and age-70 dates, the India calculator with the 1st-of-the-month rule, and the UK State Pension calculator built on the official gov.uk timetable.
How many days are left until I retire?
Calculate your date above and read the "Time left" result — it shows years, months and days plus the total day count. If you want a live ticking countdown with working days, try the retirement countdown calculator.
Why might my official retirement date differ from the result?
Employers and pension schemes add their own conventions on top of the raw date. India's central government, for example, retires staff on the afternoon of the last day of the month, and US Social Security counts you as reaching an age the day before your birthday. This tool gives the straight date from your inputs; the accuracy guide explains where official dates can differ.
