How RetirementDateCalc keeps its rules honest, its calculations tested, and its errors fixed.

How rules are researched
Retirement rules come from official sources only — the SSA, OPM, DWP, DoPT, PFRDA, Services Australia, the Government of Canada, ESTACODE and official state publications. Each rule is recorded with its source and retrieval date. Anything that can't be verified from an official source is excluded or labeled "not verified" — never guessed.
How calculations are tested
Every calculator runs on a shared date engine covered by automated test cases — written before any change, cross-checked against an independent implementation. Worked examples on the site are generated by the engine at build time, never hand-typed.
How corrections work
Report an Error → the report is reviewed against the official source → the rule data or calculator is fixed → the site is rebuilt. Verified corrections are published; disagreements with official sources are resolved in favor of the official source.
Review approach and frequency
Rule data is re-verified against official sources on a rolling basis and after any reported change in the law. Each verification pass updates the date below.
