NPS Retirement Date Calculator

For National Pension System subscribers: enter your birth date and choose normal exit at 60, continued contributions to 70, or maximum deferral to 75. Dates per PFRDA's verified rules — amounts and tax are out of scope.

1 Your date of birth

2 Exit age

How it's calculated

Your exit date is birth date + the exit age you choose: 60 for normal exit, 70 if you keep contributing, 75 for maximum deferral. The ages come from PFRDA's verified schedule (2021 amendments: entry age raised 65→70, maximum exit/deferral 70→75).

Dates only — withdrawal percentages, annuity rates and tax treatment are out of scope. Normal vs early vs full retirement age.

Examples

Born 15 March 1985: normal exit (60) 15 March 2045 (Wednesday); continue to (70) 15 March 2055 (Monday); maximum deferral (75) 15 March 2060 (Monday).

What happens at 60 if you do nothing?

Your NPS account continues automatically — this is PFRDA's auto-continuation. You can keep contributing until 70 and defer exit and annuity purchase until 75. The three dates above are the milestones; the choice between them is yours to make with your annuity provider.

Frequently asked questions

Why 60, 70 and 75?

These are the three verified milestones in PFRDA's rules: 60 is the normal exit age, contributions may continue to 70, and exit/annuity purchase may be deferred to 75 under the 2021 amendments.

What happens if I do nothing at 60?

Nothing bad — your account continues automatically (auto-continuation). You don't have to exit at 60; it's simply the first date you can.

Can I exit between these ages, say at 63?

The milestones above are the ones PFRDA defines. Between 60 and 75, exit timing is between you and the rules as they apply to you — pick the nearest milestone above, or use the main calculator with your chosen age.

Does this tell me my pension amount?

No — deliberately. Withdrawal percentages, annuity rates and tax treatment are amounts and tax, which this site doesn't compute. Your annuity service provider gives those figures.

What changed in the 2021 amendments?

The entry age was raised from 65 to 70 and the maximum exit/deferral age from 70 to 75. The dates above reflect the amended rules.
