State Government Employee Retirement Date Calculator
For Indian state government servants: pick your state to get its verified superannuation age, your retirement date, and the official source. States we couldn't verify take your entered age — never a guess.
How it's calculated
Your state picks its verified superannuation age (58 to 62). Your retirement date uses the month-end convention — the last day of the month you turn that age (previous month, if born on the 1st) — and the official source is shown beside every result. Unlisted states use the age you enter, clearly labeled as unverified.
Dates only. Retirement age for Indian government employees.
Examples
- Haryana (verified, age 58), born 15 March 1985: 31 March 2043 (Tuesday).
- Bihar (verified, age 60), born 1 June 1985: 31 May 2045 (Wednesday) (born on the 1st, so the previous month-end).
Why state ages differ — and our verification standard
Each Indian state sets its own superannuation age under its own service rules, which is why they range from 58 to 62. We publish a state's age only after verifying it against an official source — a government order, gazette, service code or official record. Twelve states currently meet that bar:
| State | Superannuation age |
|---|---|
| Andhra Pradesh | 62 years |
| Assam | 60 years |
| Bihar | 60 years |
| Haryana | 58 years |
| Himachal Pradesh | 58 years |
| Karnataka | 60 years |
| Madhya Pradesh | 62 years |
| Odisha | 60 years |
| Punjab | 58 years |
| Rajasthan | 60 years |
| Telangana | 61 years |
| West Bengal | 60 years |
For the rest, the tool says "not verified" and computes from the age you enter. We'd rather show a gap than a guess.

Frequently asked questions
Why isn't my state listed with an age?
Because we couldn't verify its superannuation age from an official source. Eight states are currently in this position — the tool lets you enter your state's age and labels the result as your own calculation.
How do you verify a state's age?
Against official material only: government orders, gazettes, service codes (like the Orissa Service Code) or official records of retirements under the rule. Each verified state shows its source beside the result.
Does the month-end rule apply in every state?
Most states retire on a month-end basis like the centre (FR 56(a)), but the exact wording varies — Rajasthan's, for example, specifies the afternoon of the last day of the month. Confirm your state's wording.
What about categories like Punjab's Class IV?
Category exceptions exist — Punjab's Class IV employees retire at 60, not 58. The tool flags the caveat when you select Punjab; check whether an exception covers you.
Can my state's age change?
Yes — states revise superannuation ages by government order (several verified states moved 58→60 or 60→62 in recent years). If yours changes, tell us via report an error.
